Background

The European Space Agency is organising Fringe 2020, the 11th International Workshop on "Advances in the Science and Applications of SAR Interferometry and Sentinel-1 InSAR". The Fringe series of workshops started in 1992 and they are currently organised by ESA every 2-3 years.

Dates and venue

The event will be hosted at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, from 22nd to 26th of June 2020.

Participation

Fringe 2020 is a free workshop that is open to scientists, students and Sentinel-1 data users, as well as representatives from national, European and international space agencies and value adding industries.

Organisation

Language and fees

No participation fees will be charged. Participants are expected to finance their own travel and accommodation expenses and no student grants are foreseen for this workshop.
The official language of the workshop is English.


Fringe 2020 is organised around
  • Papers and posters selected by the Scientific Committee;
  • Invited papers on ESA-funded studies and Sentinel-1 and future ESA SAR mission status reports;
  • Round-table discussions with seed questions prepared by the session chairpersons and ESA.

Fringe 2020 Objectives
  • To bring together the global InSAR research and development communities and facilitate international exchange betwen reseachers and research groups;
  • To assess the state of the art in InSAR Science and Applications;
  • To present the Sentinel-1 mission status, algorithms and products;
  • To present the BIOMASS mission status, algorithms and products;
  • To review and assess the progress according to the recommendations voiced at FRINGE 2017;
  • To consult the scientific communities to prepare ESA for starting supporting science activities for Sentinel-1 and BIOMASSin the InSAR domain.

Abstract Submission

Prepare your abstract

Abstracts shall be selected on the basis of the one-page abstracts (min 350 words to max 2000 words).
Abstracts should contain the following information:

  • Title of paper
  • Authors full name and affiliations
  • Name, address, e-mail, telephone of the main author
  • Proposed topic for the paper
  • Presentation preference (oral or poster)

Waiting for approval

Authors will be notified of the Scientific Committee review process outcome. Notification of the acceptances will be sent at a later stage. The new dates of the workshop will be announced soon and all the authors notified accordingly.
Upon the notification of acceptance, the authors will be informed of the acceptation type, whether oral or poster presentation.
